HHC is considered by experts to be a semi-synthetic cannabinoid. HHC occurs naturally in the hemp plant. However, Roger Adams performed a scientific feat and added a hydrogen molecule to the delta-9-THC to produce the HHC on its own. The process thus initiated has become known as hydrogenation. Nowadays, HHC is usually obtained from those hemp varieties that have a lower THC content and a higher CBD content in return. This is also considered the basis for HHC to be legally produced.
